Why do you want to serve on the school board?

I want to give back to the community that gave me so much. I am a firm believer that a strong school district is the backbone to a community.

I feel I can be the open ear between the administration and the community.

What do you think are the top 3 priority issues that need to be addressed?

I thought about these questions for a long time. I do not understand why we look for negatives in the current Board. I am not able to say what the current issues are without being properly informed on all parts of the issues. As a community the majority questions the spending history of the school. I to want to understand why we do what we do. I have the same questions most Sauk Centre residents have. I want to get more information on why, so I can help explain to the community. I want to concentrate on how we can continue to make our school even greater than it is now.

Choose one of the items listed above, what is your proposed plan to address it?

Like I stated before. I feel I need to be more informed on both sides of the issues before I say I am going to fix anything. There are definitely issues that I feel we need to be address, I just feel if you have not been part of the discussion on these items you cannot make an informed Judgement on them. Some things that are done with the money and decisions at the school are mandated by outside agencies. I want too understand why as much as everyone else does.

How do you prioritize trades programming (healthcare, mechanical, construction etc) in your middle and high schools?

I feel these programs are very important, not only for future workers, but for life skills. I am a graduate of the Sauk Centre High School, and I learned a lot in the industrial arts program offered when I was student. The community, the state and the nation need skilled workers in these areas. We need to give our students the opportunity to experience these to make life choices.

How would you define excellence in education?

I define excellence in education as a District that offers it students and Facility an opportunity to elevate the learning experience. We must give our students the opportunity to learn many different areas of life. We must give our facility the opportunity to teach and lead or students to making excellent life choices. All why providing a positive atmosphere, and tools needed to accomplish it.
